2009 Year-Long Course in Shamanism and Shamanic Healing
This course meets for the coming year and into 2010. We will explore Shamanism as a healing modality and our personal and communal commitment to bringing the Healing Charism into our planet in these times of great change and evolving growth. This program is open to those who are serious about their desire to be a healing influence in the world today.

Overview
The Basics of Shamanic Practice
This class begins the year-long exploration of Shamanism, and teaches basic journeying techniques, This session is required for all participants of the Year Long Program. The purpose of this class is to ensure that all participants are Aon the same page@, as well as to begin to build the team that will be exploring shamanic healing over the year. Participants will learn and enhance their basic journeying skills as well as meet their power animals and guides.
Working with Spirit
Participants will gain a deeper awareness of the role of their guides, teachers and power animals. We will meet the guides that will help us in the Work, and learn how to receive their guidance. We will explore healing of self and others, and become grounded in the ethics and understanding of shamanic work. Journeying to the Upper, Middle, and Lower worlds will be explored in depth and the participant will learn how to remain safe when journeying to and through these realms.
The Heart of the Shaman
Participants will explore the concept of compassion and how this relates to shamanic practice. This class will prepare the participant to further their understanding of healing with spiritual light.
Soul Retrieval
Participants will gain an understanding of the shamanic concept of soul loss and soul retrieval. We will explore the technique of soul retrieval and learn how to apply this to our healing practice.
Participants will learn the technique of Soul Remembrance.
The Inter-Relatedness of Healing
Based on the work of Sandra Ingerman, and her book Medicine for the Earth, we will explore the process of transmuting toxins and transfiguration as a healing practice, deepening our awareness of ourselves as healing Light.
Shamanic Retreat
This three-day retreat will offer participants the opportunity to be in nature as we explore our relationship with the elements.
Passages
This class explores the process of death and dying from a shamanic perspective. Participants will have the opportunity to view the dying process through journeying and gain an understanding of the process of crossing over. We will also begin to learn how to assist those who are in the process of dying and those who have already passed.
Transfigurative Healing
We will explore further the process of transfiguration which we began covering in The Inter-Relatedness of Healing class. Participants can experience the healing potential of transfiguration as a healing practice.
The Journey Within
In this class, we will explore the realm of interiority. Participants will have the opportunity to Ago within@ through journey and exploration. This class builds on the experiences and learning gained and brings the practitioner to a deeper awareness of the giftedness and sacredness of his or her True Self.
Healing Toxic Thoughts
We will explore the energy of thoughts and how that energy affects the environment around us. Based on How To Heal Toxic Thoughts by Sandra Ingerman, participants will gain an understanding of how, as shamanic practitioners, we are moved to regard the patterns of thought we use and are used to.
Coming Together
In this last class of the series, we will explore the past year and deepen the growth and awakening we have experienced. Through ceremony and ritual, we will honor and celebrate ourselves as the shamanic healers we have become.
