A drumming circle typically is a group of people who gather and drum together. Sometimes it is simply for the joy of creating together, sometimes it is for a more specific reason. The Drumming Circle that began May 4th 2006 in Flagstaff is for a specific purpose - Healing.

The format of the Circle is to support healing of the indvidual, community and the planet. When we drum, we set the vibration for healing to happen. No one need feel "on the spot", as the healing energy flows where it will and we all participate in its movement.

It is in the beat of the drum that we set in motion the state where we can allow ourselves to be and feel healing. For thousands of years, healers have used percussive instruments to aid in their healing work. The beat is typically 4 to 7 beats per seconds. It is a purposeful rhythm which we remember and re-create.

We gather a little before 5:30. We come together as a community of people dedicated to Earth's healing. There is a bowl in the center for concerns and requests for healing to be placed.

As we drum, we allow the Light that is within each of us to expand out into the circle, and into the community. We know that it is the Light that brings healing, and that Light is in each of us. We become aware that it is not what we do that brings healing, but that it is what we allow ourselves to be and become - Light. We tap into the experience of our Oneness and our drumming echos that unity of Spirit.

Please bring a frame drum or rattle if you have one. There will be a few drums and rattles available if you need. Wear comfortable clothes and warm socks if you want to take your shoes off.
